Our History

Originally founded as Trustland (Homes) Ltd in 1972 by Derek Barrington and Leslie Owens (Senior), the business has evolved throughout the years to reflect the diversification of various business investments. In 1983 Trustland (Homes) Ltd became Trustland Construction Ltd following a boost in commercial based work, before re-branding once more to “The Trustland Group Ltd” after investing in the establishment of the sustainability business Recipro and the popular Chester restaurant and hotel The Coach House Inn.

2018 has now seen the return of the core business to Trustland Construction Ltd. As part of a management buy out Suzanne Foran, Dave Leatt and Jonathan Bagley have acquired the whole of the construction business and Les Owens (Junior) has taken full ownership of the other group businesses. Our board of directors that also includes John Carroll, have an accumulated 99 years of company experience and will continue to lead the company into the next chapter, ensuring that Trustland will become the best it can possibly be.

Human Resources

Trustland holds the Bronze Investor in People award, which shows our commitment to the development of our employees both personally and professionally, each year we employ a trade apprentice to nurture and develop alongside our workforce. We value the opinions and actions of each and every one of our employees at Trustland, encouraging them to be the best that they can be.

Trustland are proud to be a Disability Confident employer. We recognise that there are many different mental and physical disabilities and we support our employees wherever possible. We never look at what background you come from, what gender you possess, your level of education, your sexual orientation, any disability or impairment you may have, when considering potential new employees. To us it’s all about having the right attitude and commitment to your role and our business.

At Trustland we feel it is essential for us to recognise what our soldiers have sacrificed and achieved for our country, which is why we have signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant. We provide employment opportunities for those who have served in her majesty’s forces. We also enable those who are members of either the reserves or cadet instructors to undertake their commitments and provide flexibility to their partners and spouses.
